Job summary

Synerfac Inc. is seeking a CAD Designer to create and check fabrication and erection shop drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.

You will develop custom designs such as platforms, stairs, railings, crossovers, weldments, and sheet metal components, and review drawings to support pricing and detailing efforts. The role requires proficient use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, at least 3 years of related experience, and availability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

• 3+ years of experience in a related role or field of work.
• Must be able to work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom designs and details for industrial components such as platforms, stairs, railings, crossovers, weldments, and sheet metal components.
• Review construction drawings and project specs; perform material takeoffs and support pricing and detailing efforts.
• Create 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings using SolidWorks; ensure design accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and project managers; conduct site visits for measurements, maintain drawing revisions, and resolve design issues during fabrication.

CAD Designer

The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating and checking fabrication and erection shop drawings for structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals jobs.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom designs and details for industrial components, including platforms, stairs, railings, crossovers, weldments, and sheet metal components
• Review construction drawings and project specifications, perform material takeoffs, and support pricing and detailing efforts
• Create 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings using SolidWorks while ensuring design accuracy and compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and project managers; conduct site visits for measurements, maintain drawing revisions, and resolve design issues during fabrication

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Must have experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• 3+ years of experience in a related role or field of work
• Must be able to work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with 3D modeling in SolidWorks
• A current working knowledge of the latest version of the AISC regulations/requirements related to connection design, detailing practices, steel member dimensions, and properties is a plus
