Our rapidly growing construction company is in need of a creative, full-time CAD designer to bring clients’ dreams to life! You’ll serve as our primary architectural drafter and produce original, computer-generated designs in 2D and 3D. Additional responsibilities include meeting with clients, integrating feedback, and revising designs as requested. Communication skills are a must in this role, as you’ll be regularly communicating the design progress to the construction team. Responsibilities: • Go to the initial client meetings to get details to understand the scope and specifications of the project • Receive feedback from construction team members and clients and revise designs accordingly • Look through large databases of material properties to choose the ideal material for modeling • Do simulations and stress tests on all 3D models before prototyping • Communicate progress to superintendents and project managers, so they know when designs are finished Qualifications: • Proficient in using architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk BIM, Solidworks, 3DS Max, Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, SketchUp, and Lumion • Be informed about the latest trends in design software and have a good understanding of the architectural design industry as a whole • Minimum 2 years of work experience in architectural design • Two-year degree or equivalent experience in architecture, construction engineering, design, or related field is preferred • Have great attention to detail, with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills • Minimum 2 years of CAD drafting and detailing experience Compensation: $18 - $30 hourly
