Job summary

Horsepower Automotive Group in Chandler, AZ is seeking a CAD Designer to turn bold ideas into manufacturable reality. You’ll create SolidWorks models for complex sheet metal and tubular assemblies used on off-road vehicles.

You will collaborate with the Brand Management team to move parts from screen to physical reality, ensuring designs meet manufacturability and quality standards in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Strong SolidWorks skills with complex assemblies.
• 2 years of experience designing automotive or aerospace products.
• Experience with tooling and fixtures to bring a 3D model to life.
• Creative mindset with ability to translate ideas into manufacturable assemblies.
• Self-motivated, fast-paced shop environment adaptability.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily — from templates, physical parts, or your own designs.
• Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies ready for manufacturing.
• Process 3D scans and create scanned mesh models of vehicle data to drive new product development.
• Partner with the prototype engineering team to move new products into automation and production.
• Take open instructions on part and assembly revisions and run with them.

What You Bring – Position Requirements

• Strong SolidWorks skills — you can manage complex assemblies and create sheet metal and tubular parts with confidence.
• 2 years - Experience designing similar automotive or aerospace products
• Experience with tooling and fixtures, and the know-how to bring a 3D model into physical reality.
• A creative mindset paired with the discipline to translate ideas into clean, manufacturable assemblies.
• Self-motivated and assertive, comfortable in a fast-paced shop where priorities shift quickly.
• A team-first attitude — you put the success of the team above your own interests.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Pay & Benefits

• Starting at $27.00 per hour with advancement depending on experience
