Job summary
D.R. Horton is seeking a CAD Design Technician to support engineering projects in residential and site infrastructure development. You will design and draft plans, alignments, profiles, and utilities under guidance from engineers and senior designers.
The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent, 1–2 years of CAD drafting experience, and AutoCAD Civil 3D certification. Proficiency with MS Office and collaborative teamwork are essential.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years experience in land development drafting.
- Certification in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong CAD and Civil 3D experience required.
Responsibilities
- Design and drafting of engineering plans including alignments, profiles, utilities.
- Create topographical profiles, cross sections, surface TINs, and grading plans.
- Perform routine drafting tasks and resolve issues with guidance.
- Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and construction plans.
- Collaborate with engineers or senior designers to meet deadlines.
- Maintain professional conduct to support clients and company profits.
