Job summary

Woolpert seeks a CAD Engineering Technician for its Site Civil Team in Knoxville, TN. You will design site layouts, create grading plans, and support project management with findings and reports. Expect periodic field work, local and overnight travel, and close collaboration across disciplines to meet client needs.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree or technical cert, Civil 3D experience, and strong math, communication, and reading drawings skills. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification or four years related experience.
• Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Valid Driver’s License – clean driving record.
• Interest in hydrology and stormwater management.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
• Capable of performing all essential duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read, write and interpret reports and procedural docs.
• Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry concepts.
• Ability to perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design and create site layout plans per client requirements and Woolpert standards.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs.
• Collaborate with project management to identify impediments and implement solutions.
• Perform site due diligence and compile data and reports.
• Conduct roadway pavement evaluations and prepare reports.
• Some field work with local travel and occasional overnight travel.
