Job summary

The City of Lewiston is seeking a CAD technician to support municipal capital improvement projects. You will design with AutoCAD Civil 3D, perform field surveys, and prepare construction plans for streets, water, and utilities.

Responsibilities include drafting, mapping, GIS data integration, and producing public outreach materials. A combination of CAD skills and civil engineering knowledge is required, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Requires experience with CAD drafting for municipal projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar is essential.
• Knowledge of GIS integration with CAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for streets and utilities.
• Prepare construction details, maps, plan revisions, and record drawings.
• Develop CAD standards and drawing templates for consistency.
• Provide technical writing for bids, grants, and planning documents.
• Assist in field surveys, topographic data collection, and GPS data processing.
• Maintain GIS and asset management databases related to city infrastructure.
• Create maps, exhibits, and public notices for outreach materials.
• Work with engineering staff to support design through construction phases.
