Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Engineering Assistant to prepare engineering drawings and graphic materials for street resurfacing, streetscape and accessibility projects in San Francisco. You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM tools to create designs, check accuracy, and integrate topographical survey data into surfaces and models.

The role requires four years of civil drafting experience with CAD/BIM systems, a valid California driver license, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Four years of verified civil drafting experience using CAD or BIM systems.
• At least two years in a role comparable to Class 5362 Engineering Assistant.
• Possession of a valid California driver license.
• Additional education substituted for experience (CAD/Drafting coursework may be counted).
• Autodesk Certified Professional/Expert certificate may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings and graphics for street resurfacing and accessibility projects using CAD and BIM tools.
• Check drawings for accuracy and compliance with drafting standards.
• Integrate survey data into AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create surfaces and design models.
• Review and incorporate information from submittals and other departments into contract drawings.
• Assist in cost and quantity estimates for engineering projects.
