We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prima Punch, Plasma and water jet programmer to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for Amada and Prima turret punch presses and water jet and plasma cutting machines. This role requires a solid understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and CNC programming, with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and optimize CNC programs for punch and plasma and water jet machines using NC Express, Master Bend Cam and Sigmanest software or similar.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to develop accurate part programs.
- Nest parts efficiently to minimize material waste and maximize machine productivity.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production team to ensure programming meets quality and production requirements.
- Maintain and update the programming database and tooling libraries.
- Troubleshoot programming issues and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and machine performance.
- Create bill of material and calculate material usage for MRP system
- Ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.
- Assist in machine setup and operation when needed.
- Other tasks as defined by the manager
Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in CNC programming or manufacturing technology preferred.
- 2+ years of experience programming (Amada) punch and/or plasma and water jet machines.
- 2+ years of experience with Solidworks required.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and other Microsoft suite programs
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Experience with NC Express, Master Bend Cam and Sigmanest (or similar nesting and programming software) a plus.
- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
