Job summary

Operation Breakthrough seeks a Kitchen Aide 1 to join our team and help provide nutritious meals for children in classrooms and agency staff. The role involves preparing and serving meals in a sanitary, developmentally appropriate environment while complying with CACFP, Head Start, and state sanitation standards.

The successful candidate will assist in planning, cooking, and delivering meals, maintain inventory, and support overall kitchen operations in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of USDA/CACFP, Head Start and State Sanitation compliance standards.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service (non-profit).
• Maintain current Food Handlers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food to students and agency personnel.
• Adhere to safety practices and operate kitchen equipment.
• Maintain sanitary conditions of food prep and serving areas.
