Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor I or II to provide counseling to patients with substance use disorders within the CAC scope and to support treatment planning.

The CAC will assess emotional conditions and teach coping skills as part of recovery-oriented care. Candidates should have an Associate degree in health or human services, 2–3 years of substance use experience, and a valid CAC I or CAC II certification from DC or another US jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health or human services; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 6 months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• 2–3 years’ experience delivering substance use services in healthcare.
• Valid CAC I or CAC II certification from the DC DOH or another US jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to patients with substance use disorders within CAC scope.
• Assess emotional conditions and work within a treatment plan.
• Teach clients coping skills and recovery-oriented strategies.
• Complete duties consistent with licensure and agency certifications.
