Huntington Ingalls Industries seeks a Cableway Technician to support shipboard cableway and electrical system installations in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves preparing technical documents, performing hands‑on maintenance, and coordinating daily activities with the cableway team.
The position requires a High School diploma or trade education with 4 years’ related experience, experience with marine electrical systems, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

We are seeking a Cableway Technician to support shipboard cableway and electrical system installations by preparing technical documentation, performing hands‑on maintenance, and coordinating daily activities with the cableway team. This full‑time role is located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes (no less than 30 lbs). Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required, which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
Anticipated salary range: $44,808.00 – $84,410.00.
