Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Cable Technician I (Spotter) to support structured cabling and low-voltage installs in data center environments. The role focuses on being a spotter to ensure safe work practices and assist installation crews with cable infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have some experience with fiber optics, Cat5/Cat6, or cable tray, but entry-level applicants are welcome. Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1+ year of construction, telecommunications, electrical, or low-voltage experience.
• Experience with fiber optic cabling preferred.
• Experience pulling Cat5/Cat6 cable preferred.
• Experience with cable tray or basket tray systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Spotter for cabling and construction crews on active job sites.
• Maintain awareness of personnel, equipment, and surroundings to promote safety.
• Assist technicians with material handling and jobsite organization.
• Support structured cabling installations (fiber, Cat5, Cat6) as needed.
• Help with basket tray installation and cable pathway preparation.
• Communicate site conditions and safety concerns to crew leads.
• Follow all site safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain dependable attendance and be ready to work daily.
