Job summary

Peyton Resource Group seeks a Copper Cabling Technician to support data center infrastructure in an enterprise environment. You will focus on structured copper cabling, read patch schedules, and install/terminate patches on-site according to industry standards.

Responsibilities include labeling cables, documenting moves/adds/changes, and working in a live data center while adhering to site protocols; overtime may be required, and you’ll drive to and from sites with a company truck after becoming

• Experience with copper/structured cabling in data center or enterprise environment.
• RJ45 termination and patch cord assembly.
• Ability to read and follow patch/cross-connect schedules.
• Strong attention to labeling and documentation.
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license required.
• Own vehicle; company truck provided after converting to full-time.

Job description

We're hiring Copper Cabling Technicians to support ongoing data center infrastructure work in an enterprise end-user environment. This role will focus primarily on structured copper cabling.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret patch schedules to accurately execute cross-connects
• Install patch cords and route/dress cabling neatly according to industry standards
• Terminate RJ45 connectors and build custom patch cords on-site
• Label all cabling and ports clearly and consistently
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of moves, adds, and changes
• Work within a live end-user data center environment while following all site protocols
• Be willing to work overtime as needed

Requirements:

• Prior experience with copper/structured cabling, preferably in a data center or enterprise environment
• Proficient in RJ45 termination and custom patch cord assembly
• Comfortable reading and following patch/cross-connect schedules
• Strong attention to detail when it comes to labeling and documentation
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required
• Reliable transportation — this is a home-to-job/job-to-home role, so contractors must use their own vehicle. A company truck will be provided once converted to full-time.
