Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level Level 1 technician to join our data center team in Ridgeville, SC. The role emphasizes hands-on training in a physically demanding environment with long 10-hour days outdoors and potential overtime.

You will learn to pull cabling, route cables, assemble racks, and assist with standard installation tasks under experienced technicians. Ideal candidates show a strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and a willingness to operate ladders and lifts.

Description

Level 1 technician (helper) with not much telecom experience. Looking for someone who is trainable with experience working physically demanding jobs in the past. Must have a positive work ethic and attitude, dependability and attendance are crucial as well. Must be able to work 10hr days outside in the heat and cold.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull and route cabling throughout the data center
• Assemble, stack, and drill racks
• Scan, label and port equipment
• Support general installation tasks as directed by experienced technicians

Work Environment

This will be in a Data center environment

• This schedule is for anyone on the construction team. , Mon-Friday 7 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday 7 am - 3:30 pm. 58hrs/week.
• If on the production team, 4-10s with the option to pick up OT on the other days with the construction team. Sometimes Mandatory OT is required. All candidates must be able to work OT.

There is a lot of growth within this opportunity and we are looking for people who seek leadership. This will most likely be a long term contract with the ability to go direct as an full-time employee once headcount becomes available. This position is $20/hr with potential increase if promoted into leadership position, but not guaranteed under contract until a full-time employee.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
