Job summary

Piper Companies in Red Oak, TX seeks a Cable Technician to support structured cabling, AV systems, access control, and related tasks onsite. The role offers significant overtime with earnings potential and a 3- to 4-month project scope, with possible continuation on future projects.

Essential duties include installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage systems, blueprint interpretation, and inventory tracking. OSHA safety compliance and quality installations are required.

Job description

Piper Companies is looking for a Cable Technician to join a consulting company specializing in structured cabling, AV systems, access control, and more. This is based in Red Oak, TX and offers a great deal of OT pay!

This is a 3-4 month project with potential to get brought onto future projects. Lot of overtime available to make up to $37/hour to $44/hour.

Essential Duties of the Cable Technician:

• Supports project leads in installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage systems across multiple technologies.
• Interprets blueprints and understands full project/task scope.
• Tracks material and tool inventory on-site.
• Follows all safety requirements (OSHA).
• Performs quality installations per industry/manufacturer standards.
• Builds and installs telecom room components (racks, ladder rack, grounding, bonding).
• Installs devices such as card readers, cameras, and WAPs.

Qualifications of the Cable Technician:

• Positive attitude, team player mentality, and strong customer service.
• Prior cabling experience is ideal or fiber optics knowledge.
• Experience re-cutting sheets.
• OSHA 10 certification in construction or OSHA 30 cert.

Compensation for the Cable Technician:

• $50,000 to $60,000 (based on experience)
• GREAT overtime opportunity to make up to $140,000 to $160,000 annually.
