Job summary

DataVox, based in Arlington, TX, is seeking Cable Technicians to join the Building Technology Solutions (BTS) Department in Dallas - Fort Worth. The role focuses on installation and testing of structured cabling, including Cat5e/6, fiber, and coax, with CAD interpretation and adherence to industry specs.

A valid vehicle and tools, plus background/drug screening, are required. DataVox offers a comprehensive benefits package and a culture centered on growth, engagement, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with commercial cable installation.
• Experience with network cables (Cat5/6, etc.).
• Must have own tools within 60 days of employment.
• Must have a vehicle in good working condition and a working mobile phone.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Installation and testing associated with Network cabling – Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber, Coax, Risers and Multi-Pair, etc.
• Interpret CAD design drawings and adhere to specifications (BICSI/EIA/TIA).
• Knowledge of telecom infrastructure and voice/data applications is a plus.
• Install, terminate, and test all forms of communication cabling; pre-cabling prep, patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and jacks.

What You’ll Do:

• Installation and testing associated with Network cabling –Cat.5e, Cat.6, Fiber Optic, Coax,RisersandMulti-PairTie Cables
• Interpret CAD design drawings and adhere to BICSI – EIA – TIAspecifications.
• Understanding and knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and voice and data applications a plus
• Solid experience in complete pre-cabling preparation, installation of patch panels, punch down 66/110 blocks, 110-patch panel, and various data and voicejacks.Install,terminate, andtestall forms of communication cablingwill offer you moreopportunity.

Who You Are:

• 2+ years of experience with commercial cable installationrequired
• Previousexperience with network cables (Cat5, Cat6, etc.)required
• Experience with closet work a plus
• Experience withanalog and IPpaging is a plus
• Car insurance policy meeting DataVox standards

Physical Demands:

Work involves standing, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stand, stoop, kneel, drive and reach. Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment; and ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in inclement weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Working on job sites require usage of required PPE including, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc.
