Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a Cable Splicer to provide support for cable installation and maintenance at Joint Base Charleston. This full-time role requires installing and maintaining copper, coaxial and fiber optic cables in aerial, buried, and underground configurations.

Responsibilities include terminating, splicing, locating, marking, testing, tagging and cross-connecting, while ensuring CAT 5/6 performance meets standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in cable repair and splicing.
• Hold BICSI Installer 2 Copper (INSTC).
• Hold BICSI Installer 2 Optical Fiber (INSTF).
• Experience with fiber, coaxial, and copper cables and grounding systems.
• Knowledge of CAT 5/6 and cable testing.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Perform cable testing to verify proper installation and performance.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in cable repair and splicing. Must hold the following BICSI certifications: Installer 2 Copper (INSTC) and Installer 2 Optical Fiber (INSTF). Experience with fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cable as well as protected terminals and grounding systems. Knowledge of CAT 5/6 and cable testing experience. Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and pole climbing as well as be willing to work in enclosed spaces or inclement weather. Must be a US citizen.
