Job summary

RFS Technologies in Meriden, CT is seeking a cable production worker to contribute to insulation extrusion, welding/corrugation, jacketing extrusion, and cable testing within the Cable Manufacturing group. The role starts with one primary function with cross-training planned for a multifunctional operator.

Candidates should be comfortable reading process sheets, using gauges and measuring tools, and maintaining production records.

Qualifications

Reading, writing, arithmetic and following instructions.
Experience up to 3 months.
Solid initiative and judgment.

Responsibilities

Process cable raw materials through various cable production operations to create a finished cable product using process and setup sheets.
Observe equipment and cable during operation to ensure quality according to specifications.
Operate material handling equipment to move work in process and materials as needed for the process.
Perform hand operations related to operation and maintenance of production equipment and tooling.
Use measuring tools (micrometer, vernier caliper) to check material and maintain production records.
Use electronic testing equipment to evaluate electrical performance of cables per specifications.
Detect faulty operations or materials and report to the manager.
Follow safety and environmental regulations and keep work area clean and orderly.
Perform other similar duties and operate or assist in other department equipment as assigned.
