Job summary

Samtec, Wilsonville cable manufacturing site, is seeking a Repair/Maintenance Technician for a 3x12hr compressed schedule across multiple shifts. Responsibilities include setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of cable manufacturing equipment, plus troubleshooting and documentation to support operations and engineering teams.

The role requires 3–5 years in maintenance or manufacturing, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, PLC/servo motor familiarity, and good communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in maintenance/equipment technician or cable manufacturing.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical skills with use of various hand tools.
• Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, servo motors, relays.
• Ability to read/write English; strong communication.
• Able to sit/stand 90 minutes and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance for cable manufacturing equipment.
• Execute preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Perform setup and changeover tasks on equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrically and mechanically.
• Maintain maintenance records in electronic system.
• Support plant KPIs including uptime and PM completion.
• Provide training on key equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with Operations to reduce downtime.
