AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous access to our cloud services. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other roles. Amazon is seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician to join our infrastructure operations team. You will work independently in a dynamic environment to enhance the stability and scalability of our networks and develop automation solutions.

Successful candidates should have technical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. Analytical skills and problem-solving ability are essential, along with initiative, judgment, and diplomacy. The role requires both independent and team work, with good prioritization, organizational, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift/move up to 40 pounds regularly; assist with heavier loads
  • Work in a 24/7 environment, participate in after-hours support
  • Work in cramped, elevated, noisy environments
  • Stand, walk, bend, lift, stretch for up to 8+ hours
  • Ascend/descend ladders and stairs safely

Note: Candidates must have work authorization without employer sponsorship. AWS GovCloud positions are restricted to U.S. citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move and install enterprise equipment
  • Install fiber and copper cabling, patching between equipment
  • Maintain safety and security standards during installation
  • Follow hardware installation procedures and perform break-fix activities
  • Use material handling tools safely
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area; reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required

  • Knowledge of network cabling, fiber types, and testing equipment

  • Experience managing medium to large projects with ambiguous details
  • Knowledge of command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
