Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft and surveillance systems.

Under minimal supervision, this position performs non-routine assembly tasks on electronic and mechanical assemblies, including wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing in accordance with procedures. The candidate will assemble components, set up work, verify tolerances, test assemblies, and collaborate with engineering and IPT teams while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

  • Requires associate's degree or equivalent with two or more years of experience.
  • Certified IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Experience with complex cable/harness assembly with multiple break out, connectors, splices, solders.
  • Must read and interpret engineering drawings and wire lists.
  • Good color vision and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
  • Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to specifications.
  • May assemble electronic equipment cables, harnesses, chassis, PCBs; or mechanical panels and servo motors.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble and test experiments or prototypes.
  • Ensure safe work practices and comply with procedures.
  • Mentor teammates and support problem solving.
  • Perform 5S housekeeping and shift cleanup.
