Job responsibilities are to assemble multiple cable harnesses from schematic/technical drawings and work instructions. Skills include: wire lay-in, crimp pins, terminate shields, assemble connectors, soldering, etc. Manage harnesses with tie wrap/lacing, braided sleeves and heat shrink as necessary. Test manufactured products.

Job Summary:
Compass Systems is seeking an experienced Cable Harness Technician for our Johnstown, PA Manufacturing facility. Job responsibilities are to assemble multiple cable harnesses from schematic/technical drawings and work instructions. Skills include: wire lay-in, crimp pins, terminate shields, assemble connectors, soldering, etc. Manage harnesses with tie wrap/lacing, braided sleeves and heat shrink as necessary. Test manufactured products.
Required to be able to use the following tools, equipment (wire strippers, crimpers, solder stations, heat gun, various hand tools, VOM, cable tester, tape measure, etc.)
Essential Job Functions
Ability to read and understand drawings, schematic and work instructions.
Ability to use drawings and schematic to manufacture cable harness assemblies.
General knowledge of common techniques and practices for manufacture cable harness assemblies.
Ability to use the following tools, equipment, or software (wire strippers, crimpers, solder stations, heat gun, various hand tools, VOM, cable tester, tape measure, pull tester, etc.)
Ability to verify measurements to validate part compliance.
General computer data entry knowledge.
Ability to work within a production team environment.
IPC620, J-STD Certification.
Other Job Functions
Ability to follow all company policies, and procedures including ISO/AS procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
HS Diploma and/or 1-3 years’ experience in related field
IPC620, J-STD Certification
Physical Requirements
Technician will need to be able to lift up to 45lbs, have good manual dexterity of hands and eye sight to use a wide range of materials, tools and equipment.
