Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Cable Harness Designer to join the Electrical Engineering team in Pittsburgh. You will design, test, and troubleshoot cable harnesses for robotic and autonomous systems, creating initial prototypes before handing off to production.

You’ll address issues in production and implement design changes as needed. The role requires 3+ years in harness design, proficiency with SolidWorks, Altium Designer, and Visio, and collaboration with suppliers and the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Associates or BS in electronics/electrical engineering.
• 3+ years designing cable harnesses.
• Experience with CAD/EDA tools and production handoff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to identify harness requirements for projects.
• Design harnesses for power, data, and embedded electronics.
• Select components based on performance and requirements.
• Create harness designs using CAD/EDA tools and prototype.
• Fabricate prototypes and integrate with host equipment.
• Support production tooling and launch designs
• Provide post-launch support and design changes as needed
