Job description

Cable Harness Design Engineer III - New Glenn

Join to apply for the Cable Harness Design Engineer III - New Glenn role at Blue Origin.

This position supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift launch vehicle designed for reusable spaceflight. The role involves owning requirements collection, harness design, and drawing creation, with a focus on rapid turnaround and high-quality outputs. The engineer will collaborate with test engineers to define requirements and drive designs to completion, contributing to safe and reliable space missions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating Non-Conformance (NC) dispositions.
  • Create and update redline drawings for electrical harnesses, hardware, and installation details.
  • Release drawings in Windchill.
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing rate, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate design updates to facilitate automation in avionics installation.
  • Support assembly and testing of cables, harnesses, and avionics hardware.
  • Report on project schedules and technical status.
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience in cable harness design, procurement, fabrication, and testing.
  • Experience with large-scale cable installations and connector systems like D38999.
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of grounding/bonding, Creo CAD, Windchill, and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • U.S. citizenship, legal resident, or eligible status.
Additional Information
