Job summary

Konik is seeking a Cable Designer in Minnesota to support cable assembly, harness, and interconnect design using CAD tools and engineering documentation. This role involves translating design requirements into drawings, schematics, BOMs, and product records while supporting design updates through the product lifecycle.

This is a contract-to-hire position with competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 0-10 years of AutoCAD or similar experience creating technical drawings and documentations relevant to cabling design, wire harnesses, etc.
• Experience interpreting engineering requirements and translating them into production-ready documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• This role requires the ability to obtain security clearance; US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop cable assembly, wire harness, and interconnect drawings from engineering requirements and system definitions.
• Create and maintain CAD models for connectors, switches, and related electrical hardware used in system designs.
• Produce electrical schematics, installation drawings, and supporting design documentation.
• Implement engineering changes and update drawings, part lists, and configuration-controlled product records.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers when required.
• Track project progress and maintain accurate status reporting using standard business tools.
• Identify potential design issues early and work with engineers to drive resolution and closure.

Cable Designer

Saint Paul, MN | Contract-to-Hire | $27-$37/hr

Konik is partnering with an established engineering and manufacturing organization that develops complex electromechanical systems. The team is seeking a Cable Designer to support cable assembly, harness, and interconnect design activities using CAD tools and engineering documentation. This role works closely with engineers to translate design requirements into accurate drawings, schematics, bills of material, and product documentation while supporting design updates throughout the product lifecycle. This is a permanent opening hired on a contract-to-hire basis.

Cable Designer Responsibilities:

• Develop cable assembly, wire harness, and interconnect drawings from engineering requirements and system definitions.


• Create and maintain CAD models for connectors, switches, and related electrical hardware used in system designs.


• Produce electrical schematics, installation drawings, and supporting design documentation.


• Implement engineering changes and update drawings, part lists, and configuration-controlled product records.


• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers when required.

Cable Designer Qualifications:

• Associate degree or technical training in drafting, design technology, or a related discipline preferred.


• Entry-level candidates with a recent associate's degree are encouraged to apply;
