A leading global cabling solutions provider is seeking a Cable Design System Specialist to support the new R&D program at their headquarters. Responsibilities include defining specifications for a new cable design system, managing sustainability topics, and enhancing tools for environmental impact analysis. Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We are looking for a Cable Design System Specialist to join our R&D team at our headquarters. Reporting directly to the Cable Design/SAP manager, you will support the new Cable Design program and IT platform, which aims to become the cable design tool used within Prysmian and replace the current, well-known but now obsolete Common Analisi System. The position also includes managing Sustainability topics related to implementation of specific calculation rules and the management of hazardous substances in cables.
More in detail, you will:
Define the specifications of the Cable Design system (the new cable design system for Prysmian) to be developed through the SAP BTP platform and support its implementation.
Enable the definition of smart solutions to streamline and enhance the cable design activity.
Be responsible for the deployment of select development packages, in particular the formula management and data migration packages.
Support the execution/roll-out in the plants, according to the plans defined with IT and the Program Team.
Support the implementation of the Sustainability calculation package within the system.
Contribute to developing services and tools provided by Group Cable Design to local design teams, including best practices, calculation tools, documents, and manuals.
Maintain the database and enhance tools for environmental impact analysis of Prysmian products, with a focus on Carbon Footprint (CFP) calculation and recyclability indexes, in collaboration with the Group Health and Safety team.
Manage use of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) in cable products by maintaining updated SVHC mappings in raw materials with Regions and continuing the development of the system for tracking hazardous substances in finished cables.
