Job summary

Source Engineering & Manufacturing in Plymouth, MN is hiring a Cable Assembly Supervisor for a 50/50 hands-on/lead role on the cable cell. You will own staffing, training, and workmanship standards while also building parts on the line when needed.

You will lead the floor, review workload, coach team members, and ensure IPC/WHMA-A-620 quality throughout the cell. This on-site role offers day shift hours with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cable and harness assembly background.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards experience.
• Supervisory or lead experience coordinating a production team.
• Ability to plan staffing against a live schedule.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings, wire lists, and schematics.

Ready to build AND lead? Source Engineering & Manufacturing is hiring a working Cable Assembly Supervisor for our Plymouth, MN cable cell. This is a 50/50 role: half your time hands-on building, half leading the floor, owning staffing, training, and the workmanship standard.

Your Role Will Include:

• Own the weekly workload plan: review incoming jobs and set staffing and hours for the week.
• Coordinate people, training, and job movement across the cell.
• Conduct performance reviews and handle pay conversations for your team.
• Set and hold the IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standard across the cell.
• Half your time will be hands-on building, the other half will be leading the floor.
• Jump onto the line to clear bottlenecks and protect the schedule.

Qualifications:

• Deep hands-on cable and harness assembly background.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards experience, even without formal certification.
• Supervisory or lead experience coordinating a production team, including training and holding people accountable.
• Comfort planning staffing and hours against a live schedule.
• Willingness and ability to hold performance and pay conversations directly and fairly.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings, wire lists, and schematics independently.

Preferred

• Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (CIS); training provided if not already certified.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT (Certified IPC Trainer).
• J-STD-001 soldering knowledge and experience; certification is a plus but not required.
• Prior Supervisor experience with review and wage responsibility.
• Lean manufacturing/quality experience (5S, Six Sigma).
• ERP/MES scheduling experience.
• Control panel build experience.

Salary and Benefits:

• Full-time, hourly, overtime-eligible.
• $30-$35 per hour, based on experience.
• 401(k), health and dental insurance, and performance bonuses.

Location & Shift Times:

• Plymouth, MN (on-site).
• Day shift, full-time, with occasional overtime based on workload, including some Saturday availability.

Physical Demands:

• Fine motor control, close vision, and sustained focus at a bench.
• Frequent repetitive hand/wrist movement; extended periods seated or standing on the floor.
• Occasional lifting and moving of parts and material up to 35 lbs.
• ESD-safe manufacturing environment.
