Job summary

J. Gibson McIlvain in Hanover, PA is seeking a skilled cabinet maker to construct and assemble cabinet components and doors according to foreman specifications.

You will verify measurements, read blueprints, and ensure precise alignment of doors, hinges, and panels. You will operate and maintain shop equipment, use measuring tools, and work with materials to meet budgetary constraints while delivering high-quality, aesthetically‑pleasing cabinetry.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of custom cabinetmaking experience.
• GED or High School Diploma or higher.
• Able to read and construct from printed shop drawings.
• Understanding of mathematics and measurements to 1/16 inch.
• Knowledge of materials and processing.
• Engineering and design skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Safety-conscious attitude and experience.

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble cabinet components and doors per foreman specifications.
• Verify calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges, and panels using blueprints.
• Maintain and repair shop equipment (handsaws, table saws, drills, sanders).
• Ensure materials are used efficiently to meet budgetary restrictions.
• Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and drawer slides as specified.
• Match materials and grains for uniform appearance.
