Job summary

Boise River Cabinets is seeking a Cabinet Production Assistant in Boise, ID for a full-time, hourly role. You will assemble cabinet boxes and drawer boxes, read shop plans, and apply backing materials while following BRC standards.

A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities include operating a drill and hand tools, ensuring proper banding and hardware, completing QA checks, and reporting material needs to the Lead.

Qualifications

  • Able to read a tape measure to 1/16” (inch) accurately.
  • Must be personally driven and team oriented.
  • Able to remain calm and clear-headed under pressure.
  • Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinet and drawer boxes per shop plans and specs.
  • Operate drill and hand tools safely as needed.
  • Ensure parts are properly banded and assembled with hardware.
  • Refer to shop drawings for special instructions and QA checks.
  • Report material needs and production issues to Lead for prompt correction.
  • Maintain clean, organized workspace and log material progress by station.
  • Label parts for follow-on assembly and assist as needed.

Salary Range: $19.00 To $22.00 Hourly


Position Overview


Assemble cabinet boxes, drawer boxes and other cabinet production in a timely manner according to BRC standards.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for assembling drawer and cabinet boxes, reading and understanding shop plans and applying filler backer and crown shim backers where needed.

  • Operate drill and other hand tools, as needed.

  • Ensure banding is adhered properly and consistently to all parts.

  • Ensure cabinet boxes are assembled correctly and within quality control specifications along with all door, drawer or roll out hardware.

  • Refer to shop drawings in order to ensure compliance with special instructions for cabinet assembly.

  • Complete QA check on all cabinet boxes prior to leaving on delivery.

  • Proactively report material needs to the Lead. Items include hardware such as:
    • Hinge plates and drawer glides

    • Fasteners, such as staples and screws

    • Adhesives


  • Proactively report production issues with detailed documentation to your Lead in order to immediately correct deficiency before further assembly or product delivery.

  • Proactively communicate to your Lead on production throughput in order to maintain efficient project scheduling.

  • Properly fill out re-work tracker each workday and submit to your Lead at completion of work week.

  • Actively learn about all aspects of the production process and fill in where assigned by your Lead

  • Properly label all parts for follow-on assembly

  • Proactively report material needs to the lead, to include:
    • Sheet Goods

    • Labeling Needs


  • Maintain clean and organized workspace with minimum distraction in order to focus on assigned duties and ensure production machinery is operating at optimal output.

  • Log progress on materials being cut on what job at what station

  • Properly fill out re-work tracker each workday and submit to Cabinet Production Lead at completion of work week.


Qualifications



  • Able to read a tape measure to 1/16”

  • Must be personally driven and team oriented

  • Must be able to operate a table saw safely

  • Must be able to operate a chop saw safely

  • Able to remain calm and clear-headed

  • Able to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met

  • Must be able to manage time effectively

  • Must be attention to detail oriented

  • Able to pass a background check

  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus


Physical Demands



  • Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs., unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)

  • Occasional lifting from 41 lbs.+, assisted (up to 50% of the time)

  • Access and mobility in tight spaces

  • Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically

  • Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending and kneeling


Schedule:



  • This is a full-time, hourly position. Standard 40-hour work week, plus overtime, as required.

  • Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday 7:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.

  • Some extra hours on Fridays, as required

  • Some Saturdays, as required
