Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced cabinetmaker to fabricate aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies in a Wisconsin-based facility. You will read blueprints and engineering drawings to build and assemble cabinet shells, install hardware, and apply laminates and veneers to surfaces.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety, 5S, and quality standards, with opportunities to collaborate on process improvements using Lean Six Sigma alongside lead technicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years experience in cabinetmaking.
  • Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to work in small restricted areas.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, products and tools.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings.
  • Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells.
  • Install drawer-slides, hinges, latches, and other hardware in subassemblies.
  • Apply exterior surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
  • Use stationary and hand-held power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture.
  • Comply with safety, 5S, housekeeping, and personal protective equipment policies.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
  • Work with lead and higher-skilled technicians to implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma and other techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
