Job summary

Jobtailor in Wisconsin is seeking a cabinet fabrication technician to support fabrication of aircraft cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies using design drawings.

You will learn entry-level technical skills, maintain safety and 5S practices, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. Strong reading of engineering drawings and basic fabrication skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical Certificate in Cabinet Making preferred.
  • Completion of current year youth apprenticeship program in area of expertise.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must not require work visa sponsorship, unless currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.

Responsibilities

  • Support fabrication of cabinets by coordinating movement of materials, plated parts, and products for on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize shortages
  • Learn and perform basic fabrication skills for aircraft cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings
  • Learn entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking
  • Develop technical competency and problem-solving abilities for progression to technician level
  • Prepare and make furniture using safety procedures, drawings, tools, laminates, veneers, and cap strips
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off completed work
  • Comply with safety, 5S, housekeeping, and personal protective equipment policies
  • Ensure aircraft interiors are protected
  • Assist with related initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Wood working, wood finishing or auto body & painting experience in a technical environment preferred
  • Completion of Technical Certificate in cabinet making preferred
  • Completion in current year youth apprenticeship program in area of expertise
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to work in small restricted areas
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Able to work any shift
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
