Cabinet Maker 2 in GAC St. Louis

This position is for Systems Integration weekend and second shift. Experience in aircraft cabinet assembly/disassembly, avionics, and plumbing is required. Experience with Catia and Microsoft Office suite is preferred.

The compensation range for this role is $24.26 - $28.31 per hour.


Final compensation will be determined by factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cabinetmaking.
  • Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.

Position Purpose: Under general supervision, fabricates aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using aircraft specifications, design, and engineering drawings with a focus on safety, quality, detail, and productivity. Assists team members to enhance techniques supporting quality workmanship.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Fabricates furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings.
  2. Assembles, pins, and glues cabinet shells; installs hardware such as drawer-slides, hinges, and latches; applies exterior surface materials like laminates and veneers.
  3. Uses stationary and hand-held power tools for fabrication or disassembly.
  4. Follows safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; uses personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interior.
  5. Uses material tracking systems to create parts demand, track issues, and sign off work.

Additional Functions:

  1. Collaborates with lead and skilled technicians to develop process improvements using Lean Six Sigma and other techniques to increase safety, reduce costs, cycle time, and man-hours.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, products, and tools.
