Position Purpose: Under general supervision, prepares, applies, and touches up finish on aircraft furniture, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings. Assists lead by overseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance, and direction to co-workers. Mentors and trains other Cabinet Finishers.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs high-quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft using spray equipment and manual/mechanical methods.
2. Interprets material specifications to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements, coordinating with Design to ensure compliance with approved samples.
3. Champions safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards, ensuring protection of aircraft interiors.
4. Mentors and trains less experienced technicians.
5. Develops and implements process improvements using Lean Six-Sigma tools.
6. Uses material tracking systems for parts demand, squawk tracking, and work sign-off.
7. Supports initiatives to meet OGSM requirements.
8. Accepts Lead responsibilities when needed, overseeing projects and delegating tasks.
9. Conducts safety audits and maintains shop equipment and JSAs.
10. Develops YI@W (Your Ideas at Work) initiatives and assists in monthly 5S audits.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4 years experience in wood finishing processes, with advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing and aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
• Computer literate.
