Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced finishing operations including staining, sealing, spraying, sanding, buffing, polishing, and repairing aircraft cabinetry and veneer components.
  • Mix stains, paints, catalysts, and finishing materials to achieve precise color matches and finish specifications.
  • Apply polyester, satin, and specialty finishes using approved techniques while maintaining quality and appearance.
  • Sand between finish coats and perform flat sanding, buffing, and polishing for high-gloss and satin finishes.
  • Mask components to ensure proper paint and finish application.
  • Monitor finish thickness and application quality per engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Inspect completed work for defects and perform repairs or touch-ups to meet production standards.
  • Prepare finished products for final inspection and delivery.
  • Promote safety and craftsmanship while supporting continuous improvement and team development.

Position – Cabinet Finisher III
Location: Denton

We are currently seeking experienced Cabinet finishers to support Greenpoint operations in Denton.

The Cabinet Finisher III performs advanced finishing, staining, painting, polishing, and repair of high-end aircraft cabinetry to meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.

This position serves as a technical resource within the finishing team by applying advanced finishing techniques, troubleshooting complex finishing issues, and mentoring less experienced cabinet finishers.

The Cabinet Finisher III demonstrates a commitment to craftsmanship, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while supporting the production of world-class aircraft interiors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced finishing operations including staining, sealing, spraying, sanding, buffing, polishing, and repairing aircraft cabinetry and veneer components.
  • Mix stains, paints, catalysts, and finishing materials to achieve precise customer-approved color matches and finish specifications.
  • Apply polyester, satin, and specialty finishes using approved techniques while maintaining consistent quality and appearance.
  • Sand between finish coats and perform flat sanding, buffing, and polishing to achieve high-gloss and satin finishes.
  • Mask components as required to ensure proper paint and finish application.
  • Monitor finish thickness and application quality to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Inspect completed work for defects, identify finish imperfections, and perform repairs or touch-ups to achieve production quality standards.
  • Clean and prepare finished products for final inspection and delivery.
  • Consistently produce high-quality workmanship that meets company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Interpret production schedules and prioritize work to support manufacturing deadlines and operational objectives.
  • Meet established productivity, efficiency, and labor hour goals while maintaining quality expectations.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements that enhance product quality, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with company procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Cabinet Finishers I and II by sharing knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and providing hands‑on guidance.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members in finishing techniques, equipment operation, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex finishing challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment by sharing expertise and supporting the development of team capabilities.
  • Properly operate, maintain, and perform routine care of spray equipment, finishing tools, and related production equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervision.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of aviation cabinet fabrication experience required

  • Experience reading engineering drawings and fabrication documentation preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft cabinet fabrication and assembly practices

  • Ability to measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble cabinetry accurately

  • Experience using woodworking tools, power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

  • Strong understanding of fit, finish, alignment, and workmanship requirements

  • Ability to identify and correct fabrication discrepancies

  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced aircraft production environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee will work in shop, hangar, and aircraft interior environments and may be exposed to dust, adhesives, solvents, noise, and materials commonly associated with cabinet fabrication.

The employee may be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various physical positions throughout the shift.
