Job summary

StandardAero is hiring a Cabinet Finisher/Craft Worker to assemble and install interior aircraft fixtures such as cabinets, galleys, desks, bulkheads, and more. You will select materials, operate hand and power tools, and follow blueprints to fit interiors into aircraft structures.

Training is provided on first shift with potential OT, then a later shift. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a historic aviation MRO leader.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Proven technical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • The Craft Worker, Wood Finisher performs cabinetry finishing on aircraft interiors under the direction of a Crew Chief.
  • Uses blueprints, sketches, design drawings or design specifications.
  • Plans and performs finishing operations including sanding, spraying, staining, and buffing.
  • May assist with reassembling cabinet hardware.
  • Operates power tools and equipment to modify cabinetry.
  • Follows safety practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Promotes and follows company practices and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as required.

As a Cabinet Finisher/Craft Worker, you will assemble a wide variety of interior fixtures (i.e., cabinets, galleys, desks, bulkheads, stereo cabinets, etc.) and install into the aircraft according to blueprints and interior contours while selecting the appropriate materials, equipment and tooling to perform the work.

What You'll Do
  • The Craft Worker, Wood Finisher is responsible for performing cabinetry finishing work on aircraft interiors under the direction of a Crew Chief.
  • Accomplishes cabinetry finishing by utilizing blueprints, sketches, design drawings or design specifications.
  • Assists in planning and performs a variety of finishing operations including sanding, spraying, staining, and buffing
  • May assist with reassembling cabinet hardware when needed.
  • Utilizes power tools and other equipment to accomplish cabinetry modifications, (i.e., dual pump gun, heated pump gun, cup gun, D.A. sander, finish sander, buffer, and U.V. equipment, etc.).
  • Complies with all safety practices and participates in facility general housekeeping efforts.
  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company practices and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as required by the department.
Position Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have proven technical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools (power planners, jointers, table saws, routers, sanders, miter boxes and portable power equipment.)
Preferred Characteristics
  • Prior cabinetry experience in the aviation industry preferred.

Schedule -Will train on 1st shift 6am-2:30pm w/possible OT and then move to 2 nd shift Mon - Fri 2p-10:30p w/possible OT (once trained and expectations are met)

Salary: Starting pay: $24.01hr

The starting pay for this position is $24.01. The compensation package for this position also includes a performance-based cash and equity incentives. Actual pay will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.
