Job summary

Mead Lumber Company Inc. is hiring a Cabinet Sales Representative to work with customers and contractors on cabinet projects, layouts, measurements and product selections.

You will ensure materials are ordered and available to complete projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, creating layouts, selecting styles and finishes, verifying measurements, preparing quotes, and coordinating lead times and deliveries.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in sales, construction, drafting, interior design, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with customers, contractors, and builders to discuss project needs, preferences, budget, and timelines.
  • Create and revise cabinet layouts and project plans based on customer needs and available space.
  • Assist customers with selecting cabinet styles, colors, finishes, hardware, and other design elements.
  • Obtain and verify accurate project measurements to ensure cabinet designs fit the intended space.
  • Prepare product recommendations, quotes, and project information for customers.
  • Review designs, measurements, and product selections with customers prior to placing orders.
  • Order cabinets, hardware, and other necessary materials to complete customer projects.
  • Coordinate product availability, lead times, delivery schedules, and project timelines.
  • Communicate with customers and contractors throughout the sales and ordering process regarding changes, delays, or other project updates.
  • Review incoming orders for accuracy and assist in resolving product, delivery, or order discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate customer, sales, order, and project documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, builders, and vendors.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address questions or concerns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales and project process.
  • Use design software and Excel to manage layouts, pricing, and project data.

Job Summary: The Cabinet Sales Representative works closely with customers and contractors to plan and design cabinet projects that meet their needs, style, and budget. Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
  • Previous sales or customer service experience preferred; cabinet, building materials, construction, design, or drafting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cabinet products, construction methods, layouts, and design concepts preferred.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements, layouts, blueprints, and project plans.
  • Strong basic math and measurement skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to assist customers with product, style, color, finish, and design selections.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple customer projects and orders at different stages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, vendors, and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve design, measurement, product, and order-related issues.
  • Ability to learn and use computer-based design, estimating, ordering, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with customers, contractors, vendors, and other team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in sales, construction, drafting, interior design, or a related field preferred.
