Cabinet Assembler (1st Shift) (Construction)

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Cabinet Assembler is responsible for building all base and wall cabinets according to the following steps.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  1. Responsible for placing the frame facing down on the table
  2. Responsible for applying glue in frame and end grooves as necessary
  3. Responsible for nailing the end panels and bottom to the frame
  4. Responsible for stapling the hangers to the back of the cabinet
  5. Responsible for installing the toe kick on the cabinet
  6. Responsible for placing the shelf in the cabinet
  7. Responsible for installation of plastic corner blocks on the cabinet (4)
  8. Responsible for application of hot glue, labeling, and sending doors on top of the cabinet
  9. Responsible for loading the cabinet on the conveyor
  10. Additional duties as assigned by the Assembly Department Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to distinguish wood species and door styles
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills and read a measuring tape
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals
  • Must have a basic ability for reading and writing

Education and Experience:

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent. Work experience can be considered in lieu of formal education.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:

Factory environment, possibly involving heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
