Job description

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
  • Build cabin noise model capturing air- and structure-borne noise sources
  • Perform cabin and system vibration modeling
  • Analyze and quantify cabin noise treatment performance
  • Work with airframe and industrial design teams to deliver an optimized cabin noise treatment package
  • Perform cabin acoustic testing
What you need:
  • 5 + years industry experience
  • Experience with the following:
  • Cabin acoustic modeling and analysis
  • Performing cabin acoustic measurements in-vehicle and/or representative cabin test rigs
  • Acoustic insulation material selection and testing
  • Acoustics and psychoacoustics metrics and analyses
  • VA One, Siemens Simcenter Testlab, or other cabin noise analysis software
  • Finite-element (FE) and statistical energy (SE) analysis
  • CAD modeling and mechanical design
  • Coding experience required. Familiarity in Python programming (strongly preferred) and/or Matlab/Simulink programming
  • Experience with software development, object-oriented, version control best practices, as well as Git, CICD, Conda
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced design environment
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Familiar with FAA regulations related to cabin material testing
  • Experience with active noise cancellation technologies
  • Experience selecting sensors and designing instrumentation packages for acoustics measurements
  • Experience with External Noise predictions

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
