FLSA Status: Temporary – Full Time – non‑exempt.

Reports to: Head Cabin Leader.

Rate of Pay: $400/week.

Closing Date: 1/15/2026.

Benefits: Standard benefits available to part‑time, non‑exempt employees. Includes sick leave (1 day per month, 12 days per year, pro‑rated for part‑time hours).

Job Title

Cabin Leader.

General Duties
  • Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
  • Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
  • Assist with the clean‑up of the camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
  • Assist with camper check‑in and check‑out.
Specific Duties
  • Enforce all camp policies, procedures, safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct.
  • Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain group control during specialized activities so that support staff can focus on safety.
  • Refer to the staff manual to confirm all safety and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Adhere to all PTM guidelines.
  • Participate in all‑camp and large group activities, including Monday group games, Monday and Friday camp fires, and other planned events.
  • Lead and participate in group devotion times, activity discussions, and praise and worship.
  • Plan and lead daily group devotions and discuss activities in relation to campers’ Christian walk.
  • Actively participate in praise and worship at weekly chapels and campfires.
  • Manage camper behavior, fostering a proactive, positive group interaction and handling bullying in line with camp policy.
  • Assist campers with daily cabin clean‑up, meal clean‑up, and weekly group chores such as trash removal and sweeping.
  • Maintain the health and well‑being of yourself and assigned campers, including personal hygiene and medication management.
  • Perform any other duties and roles assigned in support of the smooth operation of the camp.
Weekly Responsibilities
  • Attend trainings and weekly staff meetings.
  • Complete the two‑week staff training before the summer program begins.
  • Attend in‑service trainings during the summer that pertain to your role.
  • Lead assigned campers in daily camp activities and guide the cabin group in morning, afternoon, and evening activities.
  • Participate in opening and closing activities for the cabin group.
  • Conduct camp chores with campers, leading by example.
  • Assist with cabin and meal clean‑ups.
  • Lead and participate in group devotion times, discussions, and worship sessions.
  • Maintain group control during specialized activities.
  • Discuss campers’ Christian walk during activities and devotion sessions.
  • Assist with health and wellness responsibilities for you and campers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (may be obtained on site).
  • Experience providing childcare and supervision; enjoyment of working with children is required.
  • Ability to use positive behavior management techniques and adapt to difficult situations with maturity and safety.
  • Maintain a high standard of Christian personal living and behavior.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate a telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from a computer and understand written information.
