Job summary

Camp Daisy and Harry Stein, operated by Congregation Beth Israel in Scottsdale, runs an overnight Jewish camp near Prescott, AZ. We seek energetic staff to have primary responsibility for campers and their care, living in a cabin and partnering with co-counselors.

Responsibilities include planning cabin activities, maintaining camper reports, supporting camp programs, supervision during down times, and Night Shmira as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Have primary responsibility for campers and their care.
• Plan and assist in planning cabin and unit activities, including evening programs and camp outs.
• With co-counselors, record and keep reports on campers as assigned.
• Maintain involvement in camp programs: planning, set-up, clean-up, materials prep.
• Supervise sending and receiving camper mail and laundry.
• Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain camp equipment.
• Care for campers during down times and ensure supervision.
• Maintain relationship with Co-Counselor and communicate issues to Unit Head.
• Write letters to campers' parents mid-session with updates and evaluations.
• Evaluate the program, staff, and procedures; offer recommendations.
• Abide by and enforce all camp policies.
• Sit Shmira (OD) as assigned (supervise cabins at night).
