  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting or government accounting.
  • CPA license or 10 years of management experience.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex engagements in accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing strategic and technical guidance.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of consultants and accountants.
  • Partner with senior leadership on cross-functional initiatives and firm-wide goals.
  • Stay informed on industry developments and regulatory changes.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, professionalism, and excellence.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and staff development planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting or an accounting role within a small/local government with increasing responsibility.
  • CPA license (or in progress) OR, if no CPA, at least 10 years of management experience.
  • Supervisory experience with direct reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
  • Experience with Caseware and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, Tyler Munis, Incode) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
