CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) seeks a Controller for our Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice to oversee designated clients and provide accounting leadership.

Eight years of accounting/finance experience are required; a BA/BS is required and CPA is preferred. Public accounting and nonprofit experience are highly valued. The role emphasizes project management, client advisory skills, and adherence to accounting standards in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on accounting and finance best practices.
• Provide project management by overseeing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities and attend industry events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, federal/state directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.

CLA is looking to hire a Controller for our Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice. Opportunities are available in our Chicago, Missouri, Indiana and Ohio locations

As a Controller, you will:

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of the client's organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short-term and long term-financial objectives, policies, and actions.

What you will need:

• Eight years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in Nonprofit is highly preferred.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $87,000.00 - $175,000.00
