CLA is seeking a Controller with Healthcare Industry experience for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice. Based from Appleton, WI or northern Minnesota offices (Monticello, St. Cloud, Alexandria, Brainerd MN).

You will help clients mitigate risk, meet deadlines, and staff workforce needs with GAAP expertise and internal controls. Responsibilities include budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) and financial/operational aspects
• Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks and NetSuite
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Controller with Healthcare Industry experience, for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services ( CAAS ) practice based out of either our Appleton, WI or northern Minnesota office locations ( Monticello , St. Cloud , Alexandria , or Brainerd MN. As a Controller, you will help our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

Primary Responsibilities…

• Develop full knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of the technology industry.

• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.

• Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization.

• Prepare financial information.

• Prepare, or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.

• Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.

• Monitor ratio and key performance indicators (KPI).

• Monitors and evaluates the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing actions.

• Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.

• Communicate on a regular basis with boards, bankers, investors, constituents, etc.; may include prepping for and/or hosting board presentations.

What you will need:

• _ Education: _ Bachelor’s degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree. CPA certification is preferred but not required.

• _ Experience: _ 7 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required. Relevant experience in the Healthcare industry is highly preferred! Public accounting experience preferred but not required.

• Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is highly preferred.

• Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

• _ Travel: _ This position works primarily in-office and requires frequent local travel to/from local area client sites. It may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $98,000.00 – $168,000.00
