Responsibilities

• Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.

• Drive capital planning, risk management, and KPI analysis.
• Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
• Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management.
• Monitor budgets and present operational metrics.
• Ensure financial staff maintains proper record systems and funds usage.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.

CLA is looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer with Professional Services industry experience for our growing Client Accounting and Advisory Services team. This is an in office position with minimal travel.

As a Chief Financial Officer, You Will

• Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
• Be accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client.
• Work with client to set financial policy and be an active participant in, and driver of, the overall strategy.
• Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
• Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
• Oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management.
• Monitor progress of budgets and presents operational metrics.
• Ensure financial staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
• Coordinate audit activities.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements.
• Build strong client relationships and becomes a key member of client management team.
• Ability to develop key external business network, become a service and industry thought leader, and drive the growth of our Professional Services CAAS practice.

• Experience: 8 years of relevant accounting and/or finanical experience is required; 10 years strongly preferred.
• Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
• Education: Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Sage Intacct highly preferred.
• Comfortable in fast paced environment and skilled in multitasking.
• Travel: This position requires local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non‑local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business‑related purposes.

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $131,000.00 – $232,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $154,000.00 – $249,000.00

The compensation range for this position in New York is: $171,000.00 – $258,000.00
