Job summary

Jonus Group is seeking an Indemnity Claims Examiner - Workers' Compensation in California to manage indemnity claims from start to finish, ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder service. The ideal candidate has 3+ years' CA WC claims experience, SIP certification within 6 months if not already certified, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Public entities or school district experience is valued.

Qualifications

3+ years in CA workers' compensation claims handling.
SIP certification within 6 months if not already certified.
Public entities or school districts experience desirable.
Ability to manage claims through litigation and closure.
Strong knowledge of CA workers' compensation regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of workers' compensation indemnity claims from initial reporting through closure.
Investigate claims and gather documentation to determine compensability.
Coordinate with medical providers, legal counsel, employers, and injured workers.
Monitor reserves, payments and ongoing activity for accuracy and compliance.
Handle litigated files and work with defense counsel as needed.
Ensure adherence to CA workers' compensation laws and reporting requirements.
Provide status updates and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
