About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a CA-WA Private Mortgage Banker (SAFE) in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

In this role you will:
  1. Participate in soliciting residential mortgages from various sources
  2. Produce high quality jumbo loans which are compliant and provide excellent customer service
  3. Build relationships focused on affluent borrowers with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other non-traditional sources
  4. Develop and maintain a high visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace; stay informed of mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market
  5. Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of and adherence to Private Mortgage Banking Sales policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and loan generation
  6. Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  7. Receive customer applications, quote rates and points, complete follow-up activities with registration lock-in; analyze and offer mortgage loan products based on client needs
  8. Review and analyze low to moderately complex financial and credit data; match customer needs with appropriate loan programs and risk levels
  9. Inform prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures; maintain high customer satisfaction through timely and proactive communication
  10. Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements
  11. This SAFE position involves customer contact and duties including offering/negotiating terms and/or taking applications for dwelling secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is required. Ongoing employment depends on meeting all such requirements, including background checks.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Private Mortgage Banking Sales experience or equivalent, demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months from established sources
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Knowledge of sales prospecting and generating referrals
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with high net-worth clients
Job Expectations:
  • SAFE registration at employment start, with Wells Fargo initiating the process
  • Meet CFPB qualification requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies
  • Complete formal training programs
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
