Job summary

Salem Media Group in Camarillo, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting and financial reporting functions across the organization. You will handle cash posting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while tracking programmatic revenue performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, including journal entries and month-end close responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with accounting software and financial systems required.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and roll forward schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial analysis and reporting.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Track programmatic revenue activity.
• Perform accounts receivable analysis and reporting.
• Maintain deferred revenue roll forwards and related reconciliations.
• Interface with station leadership during monthly closing processes.
