Job summary

Remedy is a startup focused on scalable, automated soil remediation. We seek a mid-level California-licensed Professional Engineer to support engineering, remedial design, and implementation across our portfolio of contaminated-property projects.

The role covers site assessment, design, contractor management, regulatory coordination, and integration with redevelopment needs. The candidate will initially be Remedy’s sole licensed Professional Engineer with stamp authority for CA work, requiring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Active California Professional Engineer license in good standing.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience, with substantial experience in environmental remediation, environmental construction, civil engineering, geotechnical construction, or related work.
• Demonstrated experience independently reviewing engineering work and exercising professional judgment appropriate for P.E.-level responsibility.
• Experience taking projects from investigation and conceptual design through detailed design and field implementation.
• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors during construction or remediation.
• Strong project-management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training, or ability to obtain promptly after hire.
• Ability to travel to active project sites, primarily within California and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Remedial Engineering & Design: Develop and evaluate remedial alternatives for soil, groundwater, and vapor.
• Construction & Contractor Management: Develop scopes, bids, budgets, and supervise remedial construction.
• Project & Program Management: Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and risk tracking.
