Under the direction of the Owner and Lead Mechanic, the Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Mechanic is responsible for performing service, maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance work on department apparatus and other vehicles. Assists other senior mechanics with maintenance and repair work on department equipment as needed. Work requires high degree of technical knowledge, as well as the ability to exercise independent judgment when determining repair methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Due to the nature of working with emergency services, employees will occasionally be required to perform overtime and 24 – 72 hours on call duties*

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Incumbent works primarily in a standard shop environment but occasionally may be required to provide service at emergency scenes, on roadsides or other locations, in a variety of weather conditions and surface environments.
Work may occasionally be performed under hazardous and adverse conditions, including, but not limited to, proximity to moving mechanical equipment or electrical currents, high noise environments requiring hearing protection, elevated heights and confined spaces.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must be capable of frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of standard shop equipment and vehicle parts. This position requires standing, running, walking, sitting, kneeling, stooping/bending, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling, crawling, jumping, sliding, climbing, pinching, gripping, digging, spraying, reaching over head, reaching away from body and repetitive motion.
This position demands frequent use of sensory activities such as talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling (identifying objects by touch), depth perception and color vision.
SALARY RANGE:
$75,000 – $150,000 base salary + overtime and/or flat rate commission
