Job summary

Ace Hardware Home Services, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Technician in Tyler, TX to assemble and install heating and air-conditioning units, design ductwork and piping, and maintain accurate job logs. You will work to ensure high-quality service and compliance with codes, while delivering a great customer experience.

Responsibilities include installing various HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and completing special projects. EPA certification and a valid Texas driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification required.
• A valid drivers license with at least 3 years of US driving experience.
• Be able to remove and install all types of HVAC equipment.
• Experience with installing low voltage controls on communicating equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and city inspections.
• Good time management and project planning.

Job Duties:

• Assemble and install heating and air-conditioning units.
• Design and install HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping.
• Maintain accurate logs of all work performed.
• Ensure our reputation for superior service is maintained during all interactions with customers
• Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned / required.

Job Requirements:

• EPA Certified required.
• A valid drivers license with at least 3 years of US driving experience is required for this role.
• Registered with TDLR is a plus but not required.
• Be able to remove and install all types of HVAC equipment ( gas split systems, heat pumps, package units, mini splits to name a few).
• Must have experience with installing low voltage controls including those used on communicating equipment.
• Be able to overcome installation obstacles in order to get the job done correctly.
• Have knowledge mechanical code and ensure all jobs pass city inspection.
• Be a good teacher to help apprentice grow in the company.
• Have good time management and project planning to reduce time on jobs and trips to supply house.
• You have to be able to work in hot attics for extended periods and in some tight and uncomfortable spaces.
• Be well organized with tools and materials to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Have good communication skills with customers and management.
• Must have on hand tools
• A2l certified is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to work on HVAC units - Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
• Ability to work outside; exposed to heat and cold.
• Ability to hear and speak to exchange information.
